How to buy an anonymous VPS or RDP without KYC, step by step

Published 19 Sept 2026

No passport, no phone, no card. A practical walkthrough for renting a Linux VPS or a Windows RDP with Monero, from picking a provider to logging in.

Anonymous VPS, no KYC VPS, buy RDP with crypto: the searches all point at the same wish. Rent a machine without attaching your identity to it. It is entirely doable in 2026, and it takes about fifteen minutes once you know the four places where identity leaks.

Where identity leaks when you rent a server

  1. Payment. Cards, PayPal and bank transfers carry your legal name. Bitcoin is pseudonymous but the ledger is public and exchanges know who bought the coins.
  2. Signup. Email addresses, phone verification, "please confirm your address".
  3. Network. Your home IP on the provider's order form and later on every SSH or RDP session.
  4. Habits. Reusing a username, an SSH key, a browser fingerprint.

A no-KYC provider closes the second leak. Monero closes the first. The last two are yours to handle.

Step 1: get Monero without KYC

If you already hold XMR, skip ahead. If not, the cleanest routes in 2026 are:

  • Atomic swaps from Bitcoin to Monero (several open-source tools do this peer to peer).
  • No-KYC swap services that convert other coins to XMR for a fee. Small amounts, no account.
  • Peer-to-peer markets where you buy XMR directly from another person.

Avoid centralized exchanges for this: they know your identity and often flag Monero withdrawals. A hosting plan costs a few dollars a month, so you never need much.

Step 2: pick the provider by its signup, not its homepage

Open the order form before anything else. You are looking for:

  • No phone verification. The most common hidden KYC step.
  • Email optional or throwaway-friendly. Some providers accept an XMPP address, some need no contact at all.
  • Monero listed as a direct payment method, not "crypto via a third-party checkout" that may itself demand ID above a threshold.
  • Instant provisioning. If a human "reviews" every order, your details are being read by a human.

Our VPS bay and RDP bay show these as LEDs on every unit: XMR, NO-KYC and TOR. Filter on No KYC and Takes XMR and the list shrinks to what you want.

Step 3: order over a clean connection

Use Tor or a VPN paid in Monero (see Mullvad) so the provider's logs show a network exit rather than your home IP. A few providers, like Kyun and SporeStack, publish an onion mirror. Use it.

Create the account, if one is needed, with a fresh address from an encrypted provider such as Tuta, paid in Monero as well.

Step 4: pay and wait for confirmations

Send the exact amount to the address shown. Monero confirmations take about two minutes each, and most providers wait for one to ten. Providers built for this market provision automatically the moment the payment confirms: rdp.monster advertises roughly ten seconds from confirmation to a running Windows or Linux server.

Step 5: log in without undoing your work

  • Linux VPS: connect over SSH through the same Tor or VPN path you ordered from. Generate a new key pair for this machine. Do not reuse a key that is on GitHub.
  • Windows RDP: connect with an RDP client through the VPN. Change the administrator password on first login. Disable clipboard and drive sharing if you do not need them.
  • On either, do not sign in to personal accounts from the server. The machine is a separate identity now. Keep it that way.

Choosing between VPS and RDP

Linux VPS Windows RDP
Typical use Web hosting, bots, nodes, proxies Desktop software, browsers, trading tools
Access SSH Remote Desktop
Price From about $4–8 / month From about $9 / month
Resource needs Low Higher (RAM for the desktop)

Both are on the rack, both from providers that take Monero and ask nothing. Start from the VPS bay or the RDP bay.

The short version

Monero for payment, a no-KYC provider for signup, Tor or a Monero-paid VPN for the connection, fresh keys and accounts for the machine. Four leaks, four plugs. Everything else is choosing a location and a price.
